In this short episode, Annette gets to answer a common question she gets from listeners of the podcast and readers of her book, Butterflies and Second Chances: How does one move forward after the death of a loved one with special needs?

Annette talks about the need to have a community with you at all times and the need to take a step back and examine your identity. Many people who have lost a loved one at an early age feel that their identity was shattered. And it’s a good idea to understand who you are moving forward.

Annette says that she wrote her book so she could just get her story out on paper and express how she was feeling. But what she realized is that the book could help other families struggling to cope with the loss of a loved one that they cared for 24/7.

Annette says that it is okay to be hurt, and to be truthful about your journey. She says that it can be a lonely journey but that you need to have hope.

Hear what else Annette has to say about the loss of a loved one and how you can move forward in a positive way in this mini episode.
