She holds a Bachelor’s in Neuroscience and Education from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master’s in Developmental Psychology from Columbia University, focusing on children’s development and cognitive neuroscience. She has over a decade of experience as a learning specialist and educational therapist in private practice. The scholarship, research interests, and advocacy work of Dr. Bibi are focused on gaining a deeper understanding of the historical and epistemological factors that perpetuate inequalities in the system. This inspired her creation of The Difference Not Deficit Project, an initiative aimed at transforming special education by shifting the narrative one story at a time focuses on learning disabilities as a social justice issue.

A true advocate and educator, she has fifteen years of experience working with children with diverse learning needs, she collaborates with schools, families, and communities to improve understanding of the emotional, educational, and social needs of kids who learn differently.
